Canoeing and Kayaking Available in New Adventure Education Programme
Visitors to Presque Isle State Park can now learn about the National Natural Landmark from the seat of a kayak or canoe in a new adventure education program being offered at the park.
“Kayaking or canoeing around the park offers a whole new perspective,” said Mike Mumau, assistant park manager.
This summer, the park is offering kayaking and canoeing classes in the waterways surrounding Presque Isle State Park. The classes are five hours and cover a wide range of topics such as paddling basics, equipment, safety procedures, and open water navigation. Throughout the lessons with trained instructors, participants also are provided with information on Presque Isle’s unique ecological diversity.
